Great Day for hockey, eh?

Comets 1 - College Jean-de-Brebeuf 0

What an exciting game! The Canadian team, College Jean-de-Brebeuf, came to the Ice House yesterday, and played a great game. Even though there was a lot of back and forth, it seemed that the Comets had the better part of the play. Not sure what the final shots on goal were, but I have heard it was somewhere around 20 for Brebeuf and 35 for the Comets.

The game seemed even more one sided than that. The Comets put a lot of pressure on but the Brebeuf goalie came up big time after time. Whether he was stopping breakaways or a giant pile ups in front of the Brebeuf net, the Comets just could not score! It took the Comets until one minute was left in the play in the game, to score their first goal! It was a great set up that came off 2 passes from Jack and Matt (I think) to find Andrew who finally found the net!

For the last minute there was plenty of pressure in the Comets end, but they hung tough, and Daniel was able to hang on for his 5th HHS career shut out! Congrats!

It was a great afternoon, that started with a nice exchange of gifts between the two teams, and ended with an exciting shoot out, where Brebeuf came away ahead 2-0. Thanks to Coach Church and his staff for helping to put this together and a special thanks to College Jean-de-Brebeuf for coming down for the game. We hope they enjoy their visit!
