Comets 1 - Wayne Valley 3
OK, so I got a little behind with these postings. I'm trying to catch up this morning ...
So, the Wayne Valley game ... well it was a game the Comets were up for. A rematch with Wayne Valley, who earlier in the season beat the Comets 7-0. For those of you that were there you saw a Comet team that played much better. Unfortunately it still was not enough. They came closer, 1-3, but just could not get the upper hand.
When down 1-2, it looked as if the COmets had tied it 2-2. Even photos take by Hackensack Chronicle photographer/reporter Joe Camporeale showed the puck crossing the line, and a WV player pulling it out of the net. But the officials called it a no goal, which really should have lead to a penalty shot because of the WV player holding the puck in the crease. But no call.
The Comets tried but just couldn't score and wound up losing 1-3. Good effort but they will need just a little more if they ever face WV again!
